How I work


Interior designing is a very complex process, made up of several stages. The Client decides what they want, and my role is to assist them in taking such a decision. Perhaps they need only a consultation or just a functional design of a specific space? Or maybe a comprehensive project of the entire space?

Stages

Step 1

1.

Evaluation of Client needs. A non-committal meeting with the aim to assess Client’s needs, most conveniently at the space that requires designing, if possible. Followed by a mutual decision that we enter into cooperation. I will ask you about your expectations, musts and must-nots. Please take inspiration photos if you have any, they are very helpful. I often take measurements at this stage.

2.

Functional design – two options. At this stage specific rooms are dedicated their functions and their lay-out is prepared – location of furniture and other equipment, plus position of partition walls. Initial visualizations are made.

Conceptual design. At this stage I suggest specific materials, colours and equipment, pictured with the help of 3D visualisations.

4.

A working design is developed to the chosen option. It includes:
- Location of furniture and other equipment;
- Location of light sources, sockets and switches;
- Position of partition walls;
- Floors – tiles, panels, etc. layout;
- Wall tiles layout;
- Wall finishing materials (paint, wallpaper, stone, wood, etc.);
- Layout of suspended ceilings (if any);
- Drawings of furniture made to order (if any).

- Position of partition walls;
- Floors – tiles, panels, etc. layout;
- Wall tiles layout;
- Wall finishing materials (paint, wallpaper, stone, wood, etc.);
- Layout of suspended ceilings (if any);
- Drawings of furniture made to order (if any).

I also prepare a list of ready furniture and equipment, lamps, floor and wall finishing materials, fittings and decorations with their approximate prices and shop addresses.

Home Staging

Home staging

You have been trying to sell your property for months? You probably don’t even realize that you are making a mistake. The answer is appropriate preparation of your house for sale, i.e. home staging.

In a nutshell, home staging is simply arranging your estate for sale or rent. The objective is to attract as many potential buyers as possible to speed up its sale or rent for the highest available price. Home staging techniques are based on marketing principles. They change the estate’s profile from “for living” to “for sale”. Research of the American market showed that home staging cuts the time needed to sell a property by 40% on the average and increases the real value of the property by 10% on the average (research done by Barbara Schwarz, world’s home staging pioneer). One of the basic principles of home staging is using low-budget activities.

Home staging is most welcome in properties where there come a lot of potential buyers and none decides to buy it. This means they are attracted by the offer and price, but turned down by the property itself. (Wikipedia)

Sometimes changing the wall colour, removing a few objects and adding a few new ones can do wonders. This is a much better option than reducing your selling price! I would be more than happy to help you do this.

Anyone who has ever arranged an interior knows how time-consuming and difficult this task may be. It means a huge responsibility for decisions that we are going to live with for years. Wouldn’t it be better to assign this role to someone who has the knowledge, passion and knows the market? Remember, correcting an overhaul mistake may cost you more than the price of an interior design!
